SafeNet Kick-off Meeting

We’re happy to announce that we took part in the initial meeting of the SafeNet project which is financed through the CERV program of the European Commission. SafeNet is a two-year project that seeks to apply a comprehensive and intersectional approach to preventing and combatting intolerance, racism and xenophobia on the Internet.

The project brings 21 partners together, including members of the International network against cyber hate (INACH) and INACH itself, which coordinates the project. The Human Rights House Zagreb has been a member of this network since 2017.

SafeNet focuses on two priorities: 1. continuous monitoring and reporting of hate speech content to social networks, IT companies and competent authorities and 2. raising awareness and advocacy through consolidated and interpreted data that will be provided to national authorities, as well as by conducting national bi-monthly information campaigns involving various stakeholders, including IT companies, public authorities, civil society organizations and the media.
