Annual Human Rights Conference 2021

Human Rights House Zagreb organizes the Annual Human Rights Conference 2021. The first part of the conference will be held on April 15, 2021 starting at 10:00 a.m. The conference will be broadcast live on the social networks of the Human Rights House: https://www.facebook.com/kucaljudskihprava and the YouTube channel.

It will start with the presentation of Annual report “Human Rights in Croatia: An Overview of the Situation in 2020” which provides an overview of the most important issues and challenges that affected the protection and promotion of human rights in Croatia last year. As part of the first day, two panel discussions will be held. Boris Milošević, Deputy Prime Minister for Social Affairs and Human Rights, and Tena Šimonović Einwalter, Ombudswoman, will take part in the introductory discussion. The second discussion will be on the topic of human rights in earthquake-affected areas with the participation of Marina Škrabalo, Solidarna Foundation, Branka Bakšić Mitić, People for People Initiative, Tatjana Dragičević, Serbian National Council, Antonija Komazlić, Right to the City and Tamara Jovičić, Association Iks . The discussion is moderated by Sandra Kasunić, Center for Peace Studies.

The second day of the conference will be held on Tuesday, April 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at which two panel discussions will be held on human rights and the rule of law in Croatia. The first panel will address the impact of defamation, humiliation and defamation lawsuits on media freedom in Croatia, while the second panel will focus on whistleblower protection with focus on the transposition of the new EU directive.
